A New Chapter, with Gratitude
’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Director of Software Engineering at Toyota Financial Services Corporation!
As I look ahead to the opportunities, innovation, and impact this next chapter holds, I can’t help but pause and reflect on what I’m leaving behind.
After over a decade at Capital One, I walk away with more than just experience. I carry within me the deep sense of gratitude, belonging, camaraderie, and shared purpose that we built together.
There’s a Dutch word I came across recently while watching Ted Lasso on Apple TV: Gezelligheid. It doesn’t translate perfectly, but it captures a feeling I know well:
The warmth of being together. The joy in shared purpose. The ease in simply showing up and knowing you’re supported.
At Capital One, I was lucky to be part of a culture where that feeling was real; not just in big milestones, but in the everyday rhythms of trust, collaboration, and respect.
To the teams I led, the leaders who mentored me, the peers who challenged and supported me - thank you. You helped shape the kind of leader I strive to be. And you gave meaning to the work beyond the deliverables.
To my friends and former colleagues at Capital One: I’ll miss the gezelligheid. To my new journey at Toyota: I’m excited to build something just as meaningful.
Here’s to what’s next and to what will always stay with me.
