"Imagine if each day a man must try to kill the moon, he thought. The moon runs away. But imagine if a man each day should have to try to kill the sun?"

– Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man and the Sea (1952).

This line from The Old Man and the Sea is a quiet yet profound reminder: not all struggles are insurmountable.

In our careers, some challenges feel like chasing the moon – distant, but not destructive. Others feel like facing the sun – overwhelming, constant, and burning. But even those aren’t beyond us.

We’re not meant to "kill the sun" every day. We’re meant to persevere, learn, adapt, and find rhythm in the rise and fall of challenges.

If you’re in a tough phase – feeling unseen, unsupported, or uncertain – take heart. Like the moon that runs away and returns, your strength will too. And in that, we are lucky.
